Learning about Volcano at Sakurajima Visitor Center

I rented a car and took a ferry to Sakurajima island, where the active volcano is.

The weather was beautiful and the 15 mins on the ferry was very peaceful!

This is the entrance of Sakurajima Visitor Center.

Everywhere you see ash from the volcano in Sakurajima island.

At the entrance of Sakurajima Visitor Center was Ash Art drawn on the ground!

When I visited that day, it was TOTORO, Satsuki, and Mei, the characters of the popular movie ”My Neighbor TOTORO“!

Such welcome makes you feel warmth of the staff at Visitor center!

You learn a lot about the volcano in Visitor center.

Do I look like I’m flying into the volcano!?!?!? Haha, it’s a huge photo on the wall!

Heeeeeeeelp !!!

Photo of a previous eruption. It’s huge!!

It takes 200 years until green comes back!

Kind staff

There are more exhibition that you can enjoy.

The staff at the Visitor center are very friendly and kind. They teach you a lot about the volcano.

While I was watching the exhibition, there was a huge eruption!!! So we went out and saw it!  How lucky!

For the local people in Kagoshima, eruption is nothing out of ordinary! Wow.

Through this nature tour, I found that the local people live very close to nature.

For example, they naturally know which way wind comes from and how that affect their daily life.

The earth is full of wonders and unknown things!!

I’ll keep exploring!
